Job Description

• Stand in the role of Production Manager during any periods of unavailability. • Act promptly to investigate and resolve Processing non-conformances. • Coach processing team members to achieve set KPI’s • Work hand in hand with R&D during trials, Technical during Projects. • Ensure a safe work environment prevails in the department – comply with SHER • Have sound knowledge of SCADA and PLC’s

Duties & Responsibilities

Processing Operations Delivery: • Ensure efficient running of milk receiving, milk processing, and yoghurt processing departments. • Directly control and supervise the process of making good quality yoghurt base from mixing; pasteurization and re-pasteurization, inoculation, fermenting, cooling, and supply to machines including all relevant documentation. • Monitor services: water, steam, electricity, ice water, control air to be available to sustain production processes • Timeous delivery of bulk product to Filling Machines to support OEE Quality: • Adhere to FSSC 22000 Food Safety system • Control all relevant CIP’s, validations and verification, including documentation & records • Participate in internal and external audits: FSSC 22000, HO Raw Milk Audit, Agri, and NOSA and GMP-Mass Balance Audits. • Take lead in trouble shooting and engage to generate Non- Conformances and Corrective Actions. Cost: • . Responsible for direct operational input of primary data into GMP –Mass Balance. • Fat & Protein losses to be in line with budget in the variance consumption of materials report – protein solver to be used accurately for all batches. • Ability to maintain accurate primary documentation to support MMS/BPCS & GMP- Mass balance bookings and investigate fat & protein losses. • Work in close collaboration with Analytical Lab to produce accurate Fat & Protein results for input into GMP –Mass balance – knowledge of FT1 & Food Scan instruments required. • Work in close collaboration with Analytical Lab to produce accurate Fat & Protein results for input into GMP –Mass balance – knowledge of FT1 & Food Scan instruments required • Bulk base losses to be within the scrap factor. People Development: • Directly supervise and engage Processing team to deliver the best targets in line with KPI’s • Ensure that the personnel operate within the Company policies • Ensure high level of discipline in compliance with the code of conduct. • Manage time and attendance, as well as staff leave, Kronos to be updated daily • Responsible for work rosters/schedules • Conduct job observations and competency assessments. • Engage team members to maintain high level of moral in the department
