Compliance Administrator x 2 vacancies are available at our Client, Wits Health Consortium in Parktown - Johannesburg.
Background
Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited ("WHC") is a wholly owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences. WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives. In addition WHC offers a range of products and services to the Academics conducting these activities in order to assist with the management thereof.
Main purpose of the job
To provide effective, comprehensive and efficient administrative support to the Core Risk Management Department and assist in the implementation of various finance and compliance related activities and tasks.

Key performance areas
- Ensure the adherence to the company financial and compliance requirements and take corrective action where necessary.
- Compile reports for divisions and group as required.
- Load all relevant sub recipient information onto the Federal Site and to ensure it is always up to date.
- Ensure processing, compliance, administration & adhoc projects are completed accurately & timeously
- Conduct periodic assessments for WHC and divisions.
- Understanding Donor rules and regulations
- Assist with compliance requirements from the Grants dept, including audit support.
- Assist in compiling an audit file for sub recipient audits.
- Record and archive all relevant documents.
- Assist and support with online banking and timesheets
- Complete compliance checks on all timesheets and communicate with staff in respect of all changes to be made.
- Follow up on any timesheet compliance queries.
- Create timesheet reports per sponsor
Required minimum education and training
- Grade 12.
- Relevant business administration certificate or diploma will be an advantage.
Required minimum work experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in compliance/administration.
Additional education, work experience and personal abilities
- Able to work overtime and travel (including into Africa).
- Confidentiality, tact and discretion must be maintained at all times.
- Exceptional organizational and compliance and administrative skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of donor rules and regulations.
- Confident personality with a proactive approach.
- Able to exercise discretion, initiative and independent decision making.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work to tight time scales.
- Able to work overtime and travel (including into Africa).
- Maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders, both internal and external.
