COURSE COORDINATOR (AD10)

Qualifications and experience
  • Matric and a tertiary qualification
  • At least 5 years administrative experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and writing skills
  • Ability to prioritise, track tasks, meet deadlines, take initiative, follow-up on tasks, work in a team, and pay attention to detail
  • Highly computer literate (MS Office, Internet, E-mail)
  • Experience with the current Wits administration systems (Activity Management system, SIMS and SAKAI or other e-learning platforms) will be an advantage

Duties
  • Provide administrative support for teaching in the Department of Community Health
  • Coordinate meetings, seminars, workshops etc including taking meeting minutes
  • Organise visits to training sites for academic staff and students
  • Marketing and publicity for the Department and undergraduate medical programme
  • Facilitate examination processes for the undergraduate medical programmes
  • Document maintenance in an easily accessible electronic system
  • Maintain comprehensive database for tracking student progress
  • Facilitate processing of student stipends in liaison with Faculty Finance Office
  • Liaise with relevant departments in the Faculty and external stakeholders
  • Assist other programmes in the School when required
